"The White Man's Burden"

The Poem "The White Man's Burden" meant that the white people were doing them a favor by conquering them and teaching them to be more civilized. The Scramble for Africa was when European countries were trying to conquer Africa. It was called the scramble because many countries tried conquer Africa at the same time split it into different countries. European countries controlled alot of Africa were they imposed their laws. European ways and also separating friendly tribes and united enemy tribes.Countries who controled Africa included Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Belgium, France.These countries were able to conquer Africa so easily because they had guns.
